Scene 1: The Family’s Hardship

Narrator:
Once upon a time, in a small village deep in the forest, there lived a poor woodcutter and his wife. They had two children, Hansel and Gretel. Life was very hard, and food was scarce.
Father:
We can’t feed them anymore. We must do something.
Mother:
But they are our children! How can we leave them?
Father:
It’s the only way. We’ll take them into the woods and leave them there. Maybe someone will find them.
Gretel:
Wait! What if we don’t come back?
Hansel:
Don’t worry, I have an idea. I’ll leave bread crumbs on the path so we can find our way back.
Narrator:
And so, the family set off into the forest. But the mother had no heart for this plan.
Scene 2: Lost in the Forest
[Hansel and Gretel walk through the forest, following the bread crumbs. But the birds eat them all.]
Hansel:
Oh no! The birds ate the crumbs. We’re lost now.
Gretel:
We have to keep going. We can’t give up.
[They wander deeper into the forest, until they see a house made of candy.]
Gretel:
Look! A house made of cake and chocolate!
Hansel:
It looks delicious, but maybe it’s not safe.
[They approach the house. Suddenly, the door opens, and the Witch appears.]
Witch:
Come in, little ones. You look hungry.
Gretel:
Thank you, but we don’t know you.
Witch:
You can call me Grandma. Come in, and I’ll feed you.
[They enter the house. The Witch is kind at first, but soon reveals her true nature.]
Scene 3: The Witch’s Trap
[The Witch locks Hansel in a cage and tells Gretel to cook for him.]
Witch:
I need to make sure he gets fat, so I can eat him later.
Gretel:
No! You can’t do this!
Witch:
You think I’m joking? I’ve eaten many children before.
[Gretel pretends to follow orders, but she secretly plans to escape.]
Gretel:
I’ll go get some water from the well.
[She sneaks out and finds a big iron pot. She pushes the Witch into it and sets it on fire.]
Witch:
No! Help me! I’m burning!
[The Witch dies in the fire. The house begins to fall apart.]
Scene 4: The Return Home
[Hansel and Gretel run out of the burning house and into the forest.]
Hansel:
We did it! We escaped!
Gretel:
Let’s go home. We need to tell our parents what happened.
[They return to their village and find their parents waiting for them.]
Father:
You’re back! We thought we’d never see you again!
Mother:
I’m so sorry for what I said. I didn’t mean to leave you.
Narrator:
From that day on, Hansel and Gretel lived happily with their parents. They learned that even in the darkest times, love and courage can help you find your way back.
End Scene
[全体演员上台谢幕，观众鼓掌。]
Narrator:
And so, the story of Hansel and Gretel came to an end — but its lesson lives on.
[幕布落下。]
