My Favorite Chinese New Year

As the most important traditional festival in China, the Spring Festival is a time for family reunions and joyous celebrations. Every year, no matter how busy people are, they will try their best to return home for the New Year's Eve dinner, which is considered the most significant meal of the year.

Before the festival, families clean their houses thoroughly to sweep away bad luck and make way for good fortune. Red couplets are pasted on doors, symbolizing happiness and prosperity. On New Year’s Eve, fireworks light up the sky, creating a lively atmosphere. Children receive red envelopes filled with money from elders, wishing them good health and success in the coming year.

During the holiday, dragon dances and lion dances are performed in the streets, adding excitement and cultural charm. Family members gather together to watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV, sharing laughter and warm moments. The Spring Festival not only strengthens family bonds but also carries forward the rich traditions and values of Chinese culture. It is truly my favorite time of the year!
